Head Coach, Cyril Allen began working with the Cal Ice Hockey program in the middle of the 1998-99 season. He continued his association with the team as an assistant for an additional two full seasons. The 2001-2002 season was his first as the club’s Head Coach. Coach Allen grew up in Northern California and played minor hockey in Berkeley from the mid-70s through early-80s. Following the period when he was an active player, he left the game for approximately nine years. Upon his return to the ice in 1989-90, he rediscovered his home rink and immediately began working as a volunteer coach for the local youth hockey program. Since that time, he has maintained an active involvement in numerous aspects of the Bay Area ice hockey community. Beyond his responsibilities with Cal Ice Hockey, Coach Allen is most proud of his continuing tenure as the head coach of the Berkeley Bulldogs Youth Hockey program. Coach Allen also serves as one of the Berkeley Bulldogs’ representatives to the NHL Diversity Task Force. The Berkeley Bulldogs are one of only 32 such member clubs in all of North America. After spending his first two years of college at the University of Wisconsin–Madison, Moulton transferred back to Cal and played three seasons as a Golden Bear. As a wing on the team’s top line he recorded three consecutive 50+ point seasons; a 25 goal goal-scorer in each. In the 2003-2004 Pac10 Championship Playoffs Moulton scored a tournament leading 4 goals, with 2 in the Bears 3-2 win of the championship game. The following season, he was honored with a PAC10 Honorable Mention Award as one of the league’s outstanding forwards. Last year’s 2007-2008 season was Moulton’s first as assistant coach for the Golden Bears. He continues to work on the development of a young Bears team to lead them back to the playoffs. |
