BERKELEY, CA, February 2, 2013 – This week, the PAC 8 announced a format change for the 2013 Championship Tournament, which is scheduled for February 8-10 in Anaheim, California. The most notable change in the format is the expansion from a four team to a six team tournament. Due to Cal’s 5th place finish in the PAC 8 Standings, they earned one of the two final spots in the 2013 Championship Tournament. UCLA was also added to the tournament due to this change. University of Utah, Oregon, Washington, and USC have also earned bids to the Tournament.

BERKELEY, CA, January 22, 2013 – Cal Ice Hockey announced today that both games scheduled against Washington State University for this weekend, January 25 and 26, have been cancelled. The cancellation was necessary due to Washington State University Ice Hockey’s inability to make the trip to Berkeley. Since no make-up games are scheduled, Cal will be awarded a 1-0 win and 2 points in the standings for each game. These wins conclude the Bears official PAC 8 season with a 4-6-1 record.

Be sure not to miss the final game of the season versus Santa Clara University on Saturday, February 2 at 8:00pm at Oakland Ice Center. In the previous meeting between the two clubs this season, the Bears won a 13-9 shootout.

BERKELEY, CA, October 5, 2012 – Saturday Night, Cal Ice Hockey will take on Stanford at the Oakland Ice Center. The puck drops at 9:15PM and doors open at 9:00PM. This is the fourth time the teams have met this year, with Cal coming out on top the previous three games. In those three games, Cal has outscored Stanford 28-7 including a dominating 9-0 win last time the teams met in Oakland. Tickets are $5 and will be sold at the door, cash only. Refreshments will be available in the lobby.
